Couponing

I LOVE to make money and I love to save money!! I wanted to throw out some ways to get some cheaper items. Don't get me wrong I'm no Krazy Coupon Lady!! But I do pretty well when saving on items I'm already buying.

First and foremost Don't get sucked into coupons! What I mean by this is if you are not already going to be buying it and you are going to use it then that's great. But don't buy just because you have a coupon and are saving money and you think its a great deal. If your not going to use it then you are wasting money instead of saving.

When I get ready to go shopping I start by making a list of things we NEED. I also make a list of things we WANT. I then report to my apps and start clipping coupons. Pay attention to these apps as most have special coupons as well. I'll tell you about some of these as I explain some of the apps that I use. Some of you may not have some of the same stores around your area so google and see what is in your area and what kind of apps they have. These are getting to be pretty big and commonly used. If you use them correctly you can be assured you will save money.

Kroger App

The Kroger app.... Man I used to LOVE this one! They already have some great deals and good prices. They remodeled our local store and now it's entirely too big for my taste so I steer clear. But anyway back to the app! So first things first. Pull up the weekly add. Go to your lists and match things that are in the add and mark them with a K or whatever will help you know that Kroger has a deal on this and for how much. 

Once your finished doing this jump over to the coupons and sift through and find things that are on your lists and clip what you need. If you happen to find something you think you MIGHT buy but are unsure. Clip it anyway! You never know if your going to get to the store and put something in your cart that maybe you didn't think you'd buy. You want to already have that coupon ready if its available. Most things I know if I'd ever buy it or not. If I would consider it I clip it. 

Kroger has some great sales already so adding your coupons is going to save you more on top of those. Some coupons can be used up to 5x's. You can find this information if you click on the item and read the coupon requirements. 

They also have points to earn. Earn these points by spending money at Kroger. These points can be used towards money off per gallon at the pump.

Another perk I really loved was Free Download Friday. Who doesn't love something free?! Some weeks were better then others but you can't complain over free!

Meijer App

The Meijer App!! I LOVE this app and its my favorite. I do majority of my shopping at Meijer. They have great deals and a lot to offer on their app as well. They offer coupons after you fill a certain amount of prescriptions for starters. If your already filling them why not get free money?! I switched all of our prescriptions here. You can get $10 and $20 off your next shopping trip just by doing this.

The next perk of this app is coupons that are for you. I am not positive how they work exactly but it seems once a month they would give me coupons such as '3.00 off your total dairy purchase' '3.00 off your total frozen food purchase' '3.00 off your total produce purchase'  Generally they put all of these on at the same time clip them all and use them. (No minimum purchase) You have just received $15.00 worth of FREE grocery!! 

I spend a lot of money at Meijer for a family of 6. They offer me 'Spend 250.00 this month and receive 8.00 or 5.00 off your next purchase.' If you don't spend as much you will get less say 150.00 get 3.00.

They also offer .10 off per gallon of gas. This will be located in the coupon section.

Dollar General

Dollar General I love this place. I live in a small town and it is the only store here in town. Quiet, clean, and wonderful people! So I do not use the app because it crashes my phone. (Its just a cheapie so don't think it'll do the same for you.) But if it does effect your phone just use your browser.

I buy most of my things like diapers, toilet paper, tissues, and some other select items here. They offer '5.00 off purchase of 25.00 or more on Saturdays' If it doesn't matter when your shopping I recommend doing this I mean Free 5.00 would cover a pack of diapers for me. If you think 5.00 off coupon for shopping Saturday and 2.00 off Luvs diapers that are originally 7.00 Sometimes on sale for less!

They also offer a 3.00 off coupon now for filling out their online surveys about your visit! You can do these 3 times a month. Only 9.00 but get in the mindset of saving money. 9.00 off for surveys plus 5.00 every Saturday that alone is 29.00 Now add your coupons and your saving possibly 30-50.00 a month! 

Be sure to check out the Ibotta and Checkout51 apps when getting ready to go shopping! These will save you money as well. Maybe not at the checkout but you will receive this back in one lump sum.
