Grocery Apps

There are three shopping apps I can think of off the top of my head that I have personally used. Ibotta, Receipt Hog, and Checkout51. A good way to be frugal and save some money. They do take a bit of time. It's been a while since I've used these apps. It really depended on what I was buying at the grocery if I used these apps or not. Plus I found it difficult in my busy life to make sure I was redeeming the correct amount during the correct time frame. I spent a few times where I had bought something specifically because it was on the app only to come home and try to redeem to find out I had done it on the wrong date. Slightly annoying. When I had less children I had time to investigate everything. I would sit and make lists of what I needed and where I need to buy them. These days it is more complicated with 4 kids at home, sports, dinner, work, appointments etc. If you have the time to do these I highly recommend it!

Ibotta and Checkout51

These two apps are really similar. Ibotta has less offers to choose from and if I remember correctly it listed a lot of 'buy 2 to get rebate'. Example : 'buy 2 oreo cookies blah blah size'

Checkout51 has a pretty decent variety of things including fruits and veggies, milk, etc. I'm pretty sure Checkout51 is the app you have to scan the item you bought and then upload your receipt. The plus side to this is that if your instore and are unsure if this product will qualify for the rebate you are able to scan it. The downside is... I always always forget to start scanning things after I have brought my groceries into the house. Yes, it is easy in theory to think 'I will scan these items when I put them away' but as far as remembering is a challenge!

Receipt Hog

I love this app! It takes a while for your coins to add up but nothing is REALLY free right? They are paying you for time and information. Simple app. Buy your goods, scan your receipt, earn coins, and redeem for cash.

I know there have to be quite a few more shopping apps but I don't use these much anymore either. When it comes to money making apps and what other things you do with your time and your phone you really have to consider time vs benefit. If you are spending many hours a day doing some of these apps and not bringing but a $15.00 gift card in on the occasion with many hours put into it. You should probably adjust your apps to fit your needs.

This explains why I used some apps and then quit using them to use other apps. At the time I was receiving good payouts for my routine and time. When that ends I hunt for something better to fit my needs.
