Work at Home

Let me first say that when you have children at home this is always at the forefront of your mind! Childcare these days is very pricey and sometimes it is more of a benefit to work from home then to spend 8-12 hours of the day at work while paying someone else to be with your little ones.

My journey to this actually started many years ago. I had seen on facebook about these apps that pay you to do stuff. I decided I'd try one out. My husband thought I was being ridiculous and really I did too... Who on earth would give you money for watching small clips on your phone or whatever it is that you may be doing?

I finally got to cash out my first time and I waited for 2 weeks thinking 'ah well at least I tried...' Then a gift card showed up in my email. Holy crap! I was addicted! I hunted google and downloaded multiple apps. It was the start of a monster! I still do my apps and still love them just as much. I've expanded from just money pay apps to digital coupons and survey sites.

When my daughter came along the sites were still helping us along. I was saving and buying things we needed for the house such as vacuums and carpet cleaners. I also redeemed some to grocery shop at Wal-Mart. It was helpful but I had seen that people were actually WORKING online. They were making sometimes up to hundreds a week. It was like having a regular pay check without going outside of their home.

I got excited about the fact you could be with your children and still help provide income. I set out to learn as much as I could about working online. I joined facebook groups and I read posts including their comments. I tried to separate the things that I was reading into possibles to search further and obvious scams. I was pretty versed in searching for more information as I had done it with my apps. No sense in wasting time.

I came to find out that majority of online work you will be paying something out of pocket. Not uncommon at all. Now let me elaborate on this because there is a strong misconception about beginning work online. If you go to your local store or fast food restaurant and begin work they expect you to be in uniform right? You go out and purchase a lunch box, work shoes, and whatever else you may need to perform your job duties. You are paying for that to begin work. Does that make it a scam? No. Why? Because these are items you need to perform your work duties in order to receive pay.

There are some people who use app referrals for income. Nothing wrong with this and as far as I know it is free to do. I have never done referrals for apps as I just recently found out you could! I've talked to a few people who make ok money doing it but not 'hundreds'.

Now back to work at home since we have established most of the time you have to pay to start work. I want to hit the idea of paying WHAT? If you are getting someone telling you to go withdraw $100 from your account and send, wire, or put this money on a prepaid card that you go purchase and they will send you $500 back. WALK AWAY. Money is not free and you don't get to send someone a set amount to receive MORE back... Even free money apps are not free. You have to do something for them in exchange for your points or cash.

There are some direct sales that will allow you to presell items instead of buying a starter package. This is legit and I've seen a lot of them do it. I did direct sales for a while with a candle company. It was $40.00 for me to start and I could sell my products and refer others to the company. If you are a sales person then this is a great job. The odds of running into a scam are greatly decreased. You can research these companies. In the US you can check the BBB. I felt this was a good option for me to start because I didn't know much about scams and how to avoid them. I didn't do this long because well lets be honest I'm an awful sales person!

I also joined a training program. I never really understood exactly how it worked... I seen a lot of people around me earning large sums of money but honest with you I didn't get what was going on... I did pay to join this and again they did sales. Not my forte. I did not make money doing this but I did learn some things along the way. I met some really great people. One especially who I speak with every day. She is a wonderful good hearted person and very similar to myself.

I ended up in premature labor and having my son early. This put a quick halt to what I had currently been doing online. When I returned home with my son almost a month later I decided I didn't want to continue with what I was currently doing. I was on the hunt for something I could really make money doing. Remember when looking for work at home opportunities that just because something works for you does not mean that it will work for someone else. Everyone has different skills and are better at some things then others. I stink at direct sales but another friend of mine is making really awesome money selling It Works. So I was catching up with my friend Angela whom I had met through the opportunity I had just decided not to go back to and she told me she had joined an affiliate company. I had learned a little about affiliate and marketing with my previous adventure. I figured ok lets give it a try. I signed up for Free with the affiliate and got started.

Let me explain to you how affiliate companies work. Remember those tools I told you that you need to start a new job? This is where they come into play. The owner of your affiliate company is going to refer you to your 'tools' that you need to run your company. Autoresponder and webpage is what you are going to purchase in this example. So when you sign up for your autoresponder through your affiliate company then this autoresponder company is going to pay your company owner for referring you. Now your company owner is going to pay YOU to bring people to him so that he can refer those people to the autoresponder and get paid himself. Now everyone is getting paid and everyone is happy and it is on the legal up and up.

The wonderful thing about this is that you are legally working AND you can expand. You can create your own personal business doing this. There are many other affiliate programs you can join once you get accustom to how the programs work and which ones are legit. You still have to keep in mind that you are still going to have scams with affiliates! Research Research! There are other options to go with affiliate programs as well such as leads. There are websites you can join and promote to gain leads for your business as well as make another source of income. When someone signs up with your leads link if you have paid for their fee. (The one I have was $7 once. It is posted in the links to the right of the page.) If they pay the $7 to upgrade you get paid. If they don't upgrade and they have 10 people sign up under them and only 3 of them upgrade... Since they have not paid for their upgrade then that money from those 3 upgrades goes to you... Understand?
